Decide on your coworking vibe

After you've decided on your theme, the next thing to decide on is your coworking vibe.

Try not to overthink it. It'll probably just happen naturally. So if you don't know what kind of vibe you want ahead of time, that's fine. Just pay attention as it unfolds and take note of it in your brain.

I found when I was hosting coworking regularly, that it was really helpful to be able to communicate the vibe to people who are thinking about signing up.

Because not everyone's gonna jive with your coworking vibe, and that's totally okay. They're not any less your target client.

So I have an example: my coworking was super chill and casual. People could pop in late or leave early and come back again if they had a call in the middle or something. I was not very strict with the timer. Like we tended to be very chatty during breaks and go over the break timer.

And for some people that didn't really jive.

One time I invited a client, she was already a client and I invited her into the coworking, and she asked me "What's the vibe of your coworking?"

And I explained all of that and she was like, "Oh, no, no, no, no, no. That's not how I like my coworking. I like my coworking to be very rigid and very quiet."

She was still very much was my target client at the time (obviously, because she had already been a client). But this was just not the space for her. And that's a-okay.
