Reminder Email

This is the email that you will send to the people who've opted in for coworking shortly before each session (mine went out 1 hour before, but you could also do 30 mins or 15 mins, it's up to you)

This email should include:

  • the link to join the video call (and the password, if there is one)
  • basic house rules -- set their expectations for the session, set them at ease
  • a way to unsubscribe from coworking reminders (aka remove themselves from that tag or segment) without unsubscribing from your email list
  • include some mention of asking you questions about your area of expertise, to remind them that that's an option and empower them to take advantage of that!
  • OPTIONAL: branded email header graphic

Swipe disclaimer: Swipes are provided as inspiration. Please don't copy these word-for-word.

Reminder Email for re-launched coworking (2024):This uses my regular newsletter template in Convertkit, so the bottom two sections aren't necessarily part of the coworking strategy. I plan to create a specific-to-coworking template, but for now this is good enough.

💭 Behind-the-scenes thoughts: I used my normal newsletter template the emails. I'd like to create a special coworking email template with a branded header image and a custom "stay on my newsletter but stop getting coworking reminders" opt-out link in the footer, but I ran out of steam and this is good enough for now

Also, the "Behind the curtain" section isn't part of the coworking strategy. It's a part of my regular newsletter template, utilizing the email footer strategy I learned in this course (aff link). I might keep it in the coworking reminders, we'll see.

My original reminder email from 2020:
SUBJECT LINE: Coworking is getting started! ETA 1 hour!

Hi friend, You ready to get your coworking on? We're getting started in about an hour! Here's the link to the Zoom call. And in case this is your first time with us (or a reminder if you're a regular), here's a few house rules: 1. There's no such thing as dumb questions. This is your time to pick my brain for free. If you have an SEO question or want some input on the content you're working on, don't be embarrassed to ask! Odds are, someone else in the group was thinking the same thing but was embarrassed to speak up. 2. In this house, we respect and accommodate the spoonie life. Low on energy and need to peace out before the call is up? No worries! I totally respect that! You do you and look after your spoons and do what you need to do to take care of yourself. 3. Feel free to use this time for whatever you need to use it for, even if that's not content creation. Yes, they're called Content Creation Coworking Sessions, but if you're mega super behind on client work or packing Etsy orders or even forcing yourself to rest and not work (it's happened before!), and the accountability of coworking is what you need to butt-in-chair and get tha tshit done, do it! We support you! See you soon! Claire

My reminder email from 2021:By this point, I also had a virtual tip jar (see this lesson), so the link to that is also in the email

SUBJECT LINE: it's almost coworking time! 👉 link to join inside

Hi friend, You ready to get your coworking on? We're getting started in about an hour! (Made lunch yet? Here's your reminder to get that started 😄 ) 👉 Here's the link to join the Zoom call. PASSWORD: sparkfirst As requested by some members of the community, here is a virtual tip jar to help support the coworking sessions. This is totally optional. It's just a way for you to "bring coffee to book club," as one coworking member put it ☕️ (And if technology ever gets to that point, Willy-Wonka-style, I wouldn't say no to some scones either 😜) And in case this is your first time with us (or a reminder if you're a regular), here's a few house rules: 1) There's no such thing as dumb questions.
